Pave: Carpool for Employees

Pave allows employees to easily find and schedule carpools with their coworkers.

About the project

Carpooling is better for the environment, cost-effective, and more comfortable than public transportation - but it's still a pain to setup. With Pave, workers who commute to their workplace can find easy carpooling capabilities and transportation benefits.

As the UX/UI designer, you'll design a simple and intuitive experience that lets employees join carpools and commute to work.

Pave matches employees of the same company, location, and commute times to each other. Employees can be drivers or riders looking for coworkers to carpool with. Every user's schedule will vary and users will live in different locations. Designing an intuitive experience that allows them to organize with each other will require a strong understanding of user needs and information architecture.

You'll be given a requirements packet and an example of successful design just like if you were working as a designer in a top tech company. From there, you'll hone your design skills by solving the product and user problems. When you have a final design, you can add to it to your portfolio.

What you’ll work on

You'll be tasked with designing the major flows for Pave's core features at medium and high fidelities. You will need to optimize your designs for a native iOS or Android app.

Your designs should convey a brand identity that is practical, efficient, and trustworthy in a space that has a lot of uncertainty. This project gives you the opportunity to work on a peer-to-peer transportation interface like Uber and Waze. You'll use your UX and UI skills to match users with their best options and visualize their commute.

This project will need beginner UX/UI skills. You will need to understand the very basics of UX and UI design, and be able to mimic common patterns.
